Stick floats are slim, traditional river floats developed in Britain for natural bait presentation. Made from reed, wood, quill or modern composites, they drift with the current for sensitive bite detection. Best used for trotting in shallow to medium rivers, they suit roach, dace and chub, but are unsuited to still-waters, heavy baits or extreme flows. Their simple design rewards careful line control and reading water.
